Sree Narayana College, Cherthala, is a premier educational institution situated in the district of Kerala, Alleppey. Since 1964 when the college was established, it has been at the forefront of imparting quality service in the Higher education sector.
Founded by the visionary Shri R Sankar, who was the President of SNDP, General Secretary of SN Trusts, and also the Chief Minister of Kerala, the institution has always been motivated by the guiding light of the great saint-philosopher, Sree Narayana Guru whose seminal ideal was to ‘Accomplish Freedom Through Education.’ Currently, the college along with so many other educational institutions spread across the state of Kerala is efficiently managed by the great leadership of the manager of the SN Trusts, Sri Vellappally Nateshan.
Imparting deep and wide knowledge in various academic streams the institution focuses its special attention on the upliftment of the downtrodden and the socially backward classes in society. The faculty of the college is committed to updating themselves to cutting-edge developments in many academic streams to impart deep and wide knowledge to the students. But no amount of knowledge is complete without ethical backing. The value-based education we give prime importance to in our campus sees to it that each student is inculcated with high ethical standards, discipline, and moral integrity.
For the overall development of personality, we also provide rich platforms to bring out the hidden talents of our students. ‘Sargasahaahnam,’ Creative evening is one of the many innovative programs our college proudly conducts on a regular basis. The monthly event organized by the teachers offers our students opportunities to showcase their artistic and dramatic talents on stage. What is education if it doesn’t provide confidence to the students? Survival in the cut-throat competition waiting in the world outside the campus needs special talents. Life skills and language skills, Sree Narayana College provides to its students are intended to help them sail across their lives all by themselves towards a very successful future.
Acknowledging the glorious contributions of the institution to the higher education sector in the state NAAC re-accredited the college with ‘A’ Grade in 2015.
